Hello

I'm intending on swapping over my current system HDD with a new Velociraptor. I've bought and installed Acronis a while back and I'm aware that I can clone my HDD using this program. Before I begin swapping the drives out I'd just like to confirm the typical procedure to do this, I'll write my assumptions below but I'm unsure about things like the SATA ports and BIOS boot order....

1) Install and initialise new Velociraptor
2) Start up Acronisand clone the existing system disk onto the new Velociraptor
3) Shut down the computer and either swap the SATA ports round for the old system disk / new Velociraptor or keep in the same SATA ports but change the boot order in the BIOS to have the new disk as the 1st HDD O/S location (please confirm)
4) Format the old HDD to remove all traces of the O/S then use this as a general storage disk.

Does that sound about right? As mentioned it's the SATA port and boot order thing that I'm unsure of, if even necessary at all.

Thanks
