We require some cloning software at work for to clone some servers that have been setup with Server 2008 on RAID

Would Acronis® True Image Home 2010 be able to clone RAID?

I use it at home all the time to clone one disk to another but do not know it it works with Raid

Thanks

Would Acronis® True Image Home 2010 be able to clone RAID?

I've used it too clone a 2 HDD RAID0 setup (Intel ICHxR cont) without any problems (on XP, Vista and Win 7)...

Clonezilla is another option...(although "Software RAID/fake RAID is not supported by default. It's can be done manually only")

How does it know what OS is on the disk? I would just need it to do a straight clone from one disk(s) to the other.

enterprise/server/advanced server versions cost thousands (well $1200) Dont need all the other backup and server stuff. Just a program that able to do a straight clone on Server OS (2008, 2003)

i don't know how it knows but when i tried it with windows home server it made the image, but when i came to restore it it said it couldn't as it was a server operating system, which was slightly annoying

Clonezilla server edition sounds good for free but this is a bit off putting in the first line of text...

"A DRBL server must first be set up in order to use Clonezilla to do massively clone"

massively clone??

I'm looking for similar software, trying to image one of my intel matrix raid partitions;
True image will do software raid (only the entire drive, not individual partitions), disk director will do software raid individual partitions [but not the demo version :rolleyes:] and apparently gparted/gnuparted will also clone partitions on intel/software raid, but when I tried it didn't fully detect all of my raid partitions so I didn't want to chance a clone because it wasn't looking too good.

If I recall correctly, it's Taiwanese. No worse than what you'd read in a motherboard booklet. I've used it for a long time and it's given me next to no trouble. :)

I wouldn't like to comment on how it works for RAID5, but if you're backed up and understand the risks then by all means try.
