I am upgrading my boot drive to a larger SSD drive soon, just wondering if there would be any performance implications of using software to clone the drive (64GB crucial M4) onto the new drive (256GB Crucial M4), and then use the same software to increase the size of the partition to fill the larger drive?
Cloning SSDs - any performance issues?

As long as the software aligns the partitions properly there won't be any performance issues.
I use Paragon Backup and that does align the partitions properly....
Ive emailed Acronis to ask if there new 2012 version aligns the partitions correctly but still have had no reply from emails sent 6 weeks ago.
I've tried finding out on the internet to see if it supports it but cant find diddly squat.
I received an email in a couple fo days from Paragon to say there software supported the ssd's correctly so I went with that....
Touch wood no problems at the moment..
