Good Afternoon,

I've just added a 2nd drive to my PC, both are 500GB.

I've downloaded a copy of TrueImage from Western Digital and wondered how long I should allow for the cloning to complete?

On my C Drive it's currently showing 465GB used.

Would I be best in leaving this to run overnight?

Also, once the drives have been cloned, do I need to just change/swap the drive letters for my two drives ("C" Original & "X" New) and then change the boot order in the BIOS?

Thanks in advance.

no need to change drive letters just set the hdd you want to boot into as first boot device in bios

as to how long it would take id allow 2 to 3 hours at a guess might take longer idk with hdd's (ssd's will be a lot faster to clone, half hour if that)

Thanks for the reply.

So will the drive letters remain the same?

So just for keeping things clean & tidy or good house keeping I can change the letters afterwards, once I've change the boot order in the BIOS?

Regards

no need, windows will assign or call it the c drive anyway (the drive your booted into with os on it)
you can change the letter if you want but not sure if it affects programs ect
