Hi guys,

I've got my set plan from the gym and it involves "Close grip pulldowns". We have a multi gym at home which I could do this exercise on but I can't seem to find a "V-GRIP" handle.

One like that. I've found others that would probably do the job but they are like £30 which is a bit over the top for a metal frame tbh.

Any idea where I could get one of these?

Cheers

Yeah use a rope or a towel for a tougher challenge. You'll create more tension in your back using the rope attatchment and trying to pull the handles appart slightly as you pull down.

Or just use 2 regular handles (what you'd use for cable fly's). There's still some freedom/movement but less strain on your wrists than a rope.

To go against the grain I love those V handles like in the picture :p The activation I get when really focused using one of those on a lat pulldown machine is incredible.

It's similar to most modern lat pull downs with seperate handles which come up and together when the stack is resting. Get a nice big stretch. Sort of combines a wide and close grip together.

I use those handles on an olympic bar for T-bar rows, combined with small diameter plates (10KG & 5KG's) I get can a brilliant range of motion where bigger plates normally hit me in the chest.

I use 20s on t-bars, but I do use the v-grip to pull the bar up. Don't seem to have too many issuses with the plates hitting me. I like to load 100-120kg+ so using 10s and 5s is just not feasible.

Cheers for the replies guys. I might have to give the rope a go.

Unfortunately I don't have any regular handles used for cable flys at home :(

Yeah I used 20's for a while but found that little bit extra of a squeeze is worth the hastle. Seeing as I don't really go much heavier than 60KG's on these it's not too much trouble...for now :p
