i currently have an everglide titan which i brought ages ago and didnt give it another though, recently decided that i could've/should've got the XL version they used to do, looked it up and apparently everglide stopped making them ages ago!

whats a good mouse mat which has the same fabric type but is in an "XL" size?

Special order price, got my replacement in January I think for a special order price.

Just cut down your Titan?

What about the Boogie Bug? I had a Titan, and replaced it with this

Its much smoother and shinier. Much nicer to use tbh!
The Titan was good, but that was much better!
Do you want larger or smaller?

looks like i snoozed as the price has gone back up to full price :/ not sure smoother/shinier is what i want, i like fabricky type mats, just wish it was bigger(!)

i wanted larger than what i have, cant cut what isnt there :p

edit: yikes, just read the size, maybe not that big a mouse mat is needed :)

The Roccat Sota is very thin, has a top cloth texture, a metal foil layer just underneath and a rubberised bottom (!?!). It's still bendy like traditional cloth mats but more rigid. I used to use the Everglide Titan, and much prefer the Sota. It being new kinda helps the friction, but I like the thinness of it, and it feels firmer as well.

Though it's ridiculously expensive for a piece of cloth and rubber.

fleming222: that razer one looks dead expensive :/

olivier renault: seeing as how you've used both, how is the "feel" of the sota compared to the titan?

DazQ87: the steelseries could be what i'm after, in a decent enough price range, shame its out of stock :/

need something that will work well with my trusty logitech g5.

I had the Everglide MiniMat. The Sota is bigger, probably about the size of the GamingMat. 'feel', well it's a bit like a sprung mattress (Titan) versus a camping mat (Sota) :) It's a lot firmer, a lot thinner, the cloth seem to glide better (the Titan is a few years old, mind). The cloth feels kinda 'granular', like they say actually. Apart from that, I don't know. The base doesn't slip, and no tracking issues with laser mouse. Can't say about optical but why wouldn't it. It's just a good gaming surface :)

EDIT : Oh, I have a Qpad 5K for reference.

EDIT 2 : The Sota is listed in the 'Hard Mats' section. It's still a flexible cloth-based pad, but does feel firm.
