Cloud based iTunes anyone ?

On a more serious note, say if Apple did do a subscription based service what would we all do with out songs bought from iTunes, delete them?

I would love to delete my collection to be honest, the amount of space I'm using for my collection is becoming a headache rather fast! :(

Pathetic news. Who cares? Really?

You've been able to buy it for years already elsewhere, people who care that much already had the CD's and have burnt them to their collection anyway.

Couldn't be more disappointed

Why should Apple not shout about this !!!

One of, it not the most well known music group in the world meets the biggest music store on the planet.
Yeah -why did Apple bother, @ everyone who thinks this is not news.

I wanted to buy Beatles stuff on iTunes YEARS ago, and yeah, I went out and bought the CDs instead. So in that regard it is a bit of no news for me. There is no denying the Beatles are massive and it probably does warrant a front page ad, but some genius at Apple should have worked out that not everyone cares and by teasing the ONLY outcome would be a complete anti-climax.

If you needed an example of falling on one's own sword, this is a pretty good one.

I still don't think, being from a younger generation the Beatles are worth shouting about that much. Certainly compared to most news that Apple see fit to make an announcement about this is pretty much a non event. Front page news, sure, having a big build up and making people guess, just lol

They get less and less relevant every year. Beatles that is.

I have no problem with it being a news item on their site, but the way they set the whole placeholder page, with world clocks and 'important announcement at 3pm' was incredibly lame for such news.

I don't like the way they advertised this as something important and big. Most itunes users wouldn't really give a hoots, and most teenagers are clueless as to who the band even are.

All what hype?

It was a single page saying 'unforgettable iTunes announcement'.
It wasn't hard to figure out really.

What hype? Setting the home page to ....'unforgettable iTunes announcement' and just launching one band in the iTunes store.

Any fan would already have the CD's and why is a digital download more expensive than a physical disc?

I guess you knew all along what it was?

What a load of old ******** that announcement was. They're just aband, hardly worth the hype or the effort really. I suppose the marketing machine will be happy though with all the speculation.

Frankly the Beatles are boring.

I think this further illustrates how much of a pointless and overhyped announcement it was by the fact no-one is talking about it on here
