Cloud storage for photos. Google Photos, or something else?

I'm looking for somewhere online to put all my photos. There nothing special or professional, just years of holiday snaps and things. At the moment they are all on my server which means nobody ever sees them and its quite difficult to access or show them to anyone away from home.

I'm looking to throw them all up into a cloud store so me and my GF can access them, and also take the time to cull out the crap ones and tag them and things. I was thinking Google Photos as I already have stuff there, and I like the automatic integration with our phones. However, putting full rez photos up uses my storage allowance so before long I will start to need to buy space. So I was wondering if there's anywhere else I could put them? I have Office 365 so have lots of OneDrive space, but it doesn't look like there's a good integration into Android or any photo management tools like Google has.

Who has used Google Photos? Is it good? Any suggestions for something else? Cheers.
 
I use Google Photos. If you allow them to change the resolution of the photos then you have unlimited storage. The quality of the compressed photos on Google Photos is more than enough, keep the originals if you ever want to print them but you have them on the cloud for easy access.
 
I think you'd be hard pushed to find something as good as Google Photos where you can also get 1TB of storage for $10 a month.
 
I didn't realise it was that cheap? Is that Google Photos only, or is it Google Drive storage that's a pooled together?

Edit: its pooled. Currently I have 15GB plus 2x2GB bonuses for security things, and I'm using about 7GB leaving me with 12GB.

Yep, it's actually Google Drive storage which is used by Google Photos (a Google Photos folder is created within the drive).
 
Or get an Office 365 subscription for £7.99 per month that comes with 1TB of OneDrive storage and access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc for 5 PCs.
 
Or unlimited Amazon Prime storage.

I have both the 1TB One Drive and Unlimited Amazon Cloud Drive storage, but I still pay for Google Drive storage for the ease of it.

I already have a Family O365 subscription. But it lacks an Android integrated photo album tool, which Google Photos does pretty well.

Found out you get 1TB of free Google Drive storage if you join Google Local Guides and reach Level 4. Time to spam photos into Maps and see if I can reach that :p.
 
With Google Photos, is there anyway to upload the photos and keep them in the same 'shape' they are in on the original location.

Eg on my external drive I have \Photos\Holiday\2016 however when I point the Google uploaded to \Photos it just uploads all the photos as individual files meaning when I go into Google Photos it's just a mountain of images that need to be sorted into folders/albums again
 
I got put off of using Google Photos since apparently you give them ownership of all of your photos and they can scan them to get metadata like your family and friends faces and where the photos were taken.

I pay for 1TB of Google Drive and use that synced to my NAS so I can have a mirrored backup. I know it's still Google, but in theory, since I'm paying for it they aren't allowed to scan the files for anything. (or so I think...who knows :p)
 
Google Photos is great, but if you use an iOS device the background sync doesn't work well (iOS limitation) unless you use the app it won't back up until you open it up.

If you don't want to pay for the storage, you can become a local reviewer on Google Maps and earn 1tb of storage free :p
 
If you're a PC user, I'd go with Google Photos for simplicity's sake.

If you're a Mac or an iPhone user, iCloud Photo Library is the clear winner for the same reason.
