Knew there was something else I'd come across when playing with DFS replication...

This fixes the biggest problem with any of the replication tools, it locks all the replicas while somebody has it open which will generate the standard read only error message on files, avoiding split brain and the problems that causes when you have to unpick it.

I've requested a trial of the above, seems like a good start to at least to get shares working between two locations, but then there will be the need to access data from anywhere. I'm also looking at AeroFS if anyone has any experience of that.

Can't beat a company that wants more from IT, but wont put in the time and money to get the right product.

Have you went in and told them a good solution will cost £x amount and save them a lot of trouble in the long run?

Has anyone using SkyDrive £32 for a year for 107Gb or is something like Carbonite Home / Home Plus the way forward. Ideally wanting something around £40 a year for my photo's and the odd few documents etc.

Thanks in advance
