I groan at a lot of these comp albums... though I do like a couple of the eurphoria ones and the new classics one sounds good - but I have all the tracks anyway. :\

I have bought Cream comps in the past and liked them... hey I like anything long as you can dance to it :cool:

Ok except maybe when your mate thinks they are cool by getting you a Hed Kandi cd.. because it is cool to listen to House and of course Hed Kandi = the house music to listen to and be cool.

There was a new one on the ads tonight, which The Egg on it - thats another thing that riles me - when they remix an old choon then everyone jumps on the bandwagon and starts going on about that 'new song'.

Remixes of old songs suck. Tbh. I say if you can't create your own song, don't bother. Although, a lot of them have been hits. :S

I have most of the classic cd's. But i cant find Anthems Of Trance anywhere in the shops and i really wanted Rank 1 - Airwave from it. Damn

EDIT\ it's a bit harsh to criticise anyone that remixes a track! I understand what you're getting at though, half the dance music they play on the radio are remixes of old songs and 99% of them are utter gash. Simple solution, don't listen to the radio

Cool. Ty! And yup that is indeed true. But i mean, it just gets to me, like that alice cooper song they remixed, everyone loved it and never even heard the original, i was like for gods sake :rolleyes:

lets take 2 trance classics:

binary finary - 1998 and energy 52 - cafe del mar

both have had numerous remixes and re-releases, the remixes are just as good as the original and the sheer number and variety of them makes listening to the same song but a different remix very interesting, take the 3 n 1 cafe del mar and compare it to the michael woods ambient remix, barely sound similar at all, but still remixes of the same song

Agreed.

I've heard some atrocious remixes. Some DJ's need to be shot! I've also heard that remix, doesn't do the song any good. lol.

OK there are a few half decent tracks on this release but it just seems to be a completely unorganised collection of old and fairly old tracks with a couple of new tracks thrown in. Gatecrashers last 2 releases were classics compilations so it seems weird to have even more old tracks on this. Most of the 'newer' tracks are actually from late last year or even the year before.
