Clueless Noob wants to get Gaming PC with budget of £800, please help !

If anything, the AMD set up is more future proof, as the AM3 is a new socket whereas the LGA775 for intel is a dead socket.

The XP 32bit would slightly be faster than the vista 32bit. BUT I'd recommend you to download and use the windows 7 RC 64bit.

Thanks again for the quick repsonse, Looks like i will go with the AMD processor then.

There is one question which hasn't been answered yet...


With this AMD Setup, what is the best resolution i will be able to run games like crysis at ? Im assuming i need to take this into consideration when purchasing a monitor. what kind of native monitor resolution should i be looking at ? i guess i shouldn't get a 1900x1200 monitor if im not going to be able to run games at that res ?
 
I had a E8600 with a 8800 GTX which run @ 1900 x 1200 without any problem, only thing I could not do is put a lot of AA ect on.
