Clutch down, engine on?

I usually wait a little longer to put it in to gear, power steering pump in my car is defunkt for at least 3/4 seconds ;) :p

I do it but only because previous cars I have owned had pretty rubbish hand brakes so I always leave any vehicle I drive in gear, its just a habit, get in the car push clutch down and start then just let clutch up and pull away.

Always have done, some cars I've had require it and some don't, and I think it's a good habit to get into. Plus every bike I've ridden required clutch in before the engine could be started.
