clutch gone / how much?

hello lads

My dads VW polo 1.3cl 1996 clutch has just gone. How much will it cost to get replaced? inc labour ect.?

Probably about £600. £100 for the clutch if they replace the whole thing and the rest will be labour. It's a job that requires the engine to come out.

This is what I thought. My car was £90 clutch and £90 labour, obviously not the same car (306) but it certainly wasn't £600.

I wouldn't be surprised if the main dealer charged that kind of extortionate sum though.

i will tell them to stick it if it was £600 the car has done 150k but starts on the button will have to wait and see
