CM 690 PSU orientation

I'm just building a new PC using a CM 690 case. Now that I have come to mount the PSU at the bottom of the case I am unsure as to the best way to orient it. It is a Corsair 620W with an exhaust outlet on the back and a 120mm inlet fan. The Coolermaster manual implies that it should be mounted so that the right way up ie. the big fan faces the outside of the bottom of the PC but I'm concerned that there is only a 15mm or so gap between the bottom of the PC and the carpet it will sit on. Is this OK for cooling or should the main fan face the inside of the case?

I hope this makes sense! In a nutshell, which way up should the PSU lie?

Cheers!

I also noticed the holes on the base of the case, so have the PSU mounted with the fan on the bottom of the case, effectively sucking air from the outside in. As above, havent experienced any issues so far.

As above, same. Infact, with it mounted like this, I NEVER feel any warm air being expelled out of the rear of the power supply (I have same PSU as you), only cool air.

The cooling system is fantastic. Just try not to place the case direct on carpet otherwise you may end up filling your powersupply with fluff/dog hair/skin etc.

The PSU has its own airflow. the base of the case is raised up on its rubber feet so cold air is drawn from under the case, through the PSU and out the back. Works fine in mine.
