CMS Choice?

My girlfriends dad wants a website to allow people to view pictures / description of his villa abroad and allow people to book / prebook themselves in for a holiday.

I have a basic understanding of PHP, and a reasonable knowledge of XHTML / CSS.

Ideally I'd like a simple CMS that would allow me to do this, does anyone know of any that would be ideal for this?

Joomla?.

Loads of templates available to give you a headstart.

I am finding the back end a bit "clunky" and fiddly but then I'm just a Joomla beginner so haven't got my head around all aspects of it yet nor learned all the little tips and tricks that I assume are out there.

Wordpress! you won't find an easier CMS

Sounds like it would be a smaller site and fairly simple so I'd go with Wordpress as well.

i found joomla quite hard to get my head around at first, but now i love it.

I'd say WordPress as well, nice and simple to set up. There are videos on Youtube if you search for WordPress CMS.

Just to complete break the mould, I'd recommend... Joomla or Wordpress!

Go for Wordpress or something even simpler like Pixie or BrunoCMS. I'd stay away from Joomla if you want simple and quick to learn/use.
