CNC, perspex case design.....

Some black nylon stocking material would both obscure the opening and provide an cheap, good filter. The only problem with any filter is changing 'em if they're sandwiched somewhere in the assembly.

Just a mockup, I simply carved the shape and colored what remained.

Can you find a good photo, preferably an SVG, of the of the old-style Dodge logo?

Failing that, can you take a focused, well-lit, blur-free photo of the logo in question as it appears on your car? :p

Unfortunately the plaq on the car is snapped in half and I wouldn't know which box it is in..
and google fails me.
How about something more general..

The files 'Dodge' are a straight conversion to vector from the jpeg on the previous page of this thread.

^That can be downloaded as long as Google keeps on hosting it. :D

Thanks very much, Diggsy. Both svgs are definitely suitable for conversion.

For those keeping score, here's the .dxf for the ram's head logo.

I'll try to do that panel mockup today and will have more time tomorrow to proceed with the rest of the design. :)

For those of you playing along at home, I'm currently using a very ass-backwards method to get models of these images.

I open the .svg with the GIMP and set it to render the image at 4000 pixels square. I add a white layer at the bottom of the stack and export as .bmp. I then use a crippleware application called Img2CAD to convert the .bmp to a .dxf. I open the .dxf in AutoCAD and scale it to 2x original. I save that as a .dwg and open that with SolidWorks. It converts it into its 2D format. I then cut the sketch and paste it in a new sketch on the appropriate part.

I've tried having SW open the .dxf directly, but I can never get the sketch to scale up to be large enough to cover the side panel.

Meh, so long as it works and I only have to do it a few times. :p

Ta daa!:

choices, choices.

Still go for the ram. :p
Do the dimensions need changing to allow for the lan li mobo tray?
