Am I the only one who likes playing Co-op with mates against the CPU? I see that console games still get co-op in a lot of the new games but when it comes to the PC format, a lot of the time you just have the multiplayer mode and thats it. I've enjoyed some good times playing Operation flashpoint (despite its flaws) and No one lives forever in the past, but I can't remember the last good co-op game I played on the PC after that.

What do you think? May be I'm wrong and i've missed a bundle of great co-op games on the PC?

Wikipedia (sorry):

Multiplayer Gameplay
  • PC will feature 32 player (16 vs 16) in addition to the 256 squad members (8 per squad per player)
  • PC will have 8 player Co-op
  • Consoles will have 8 player (4 vs 4) in addition to squad members
  • Consoles will have 2 player Co-op
Please note: Campaign co-op is available along with single mission co-op for both PC and consoles

Armed Assault 2 looks quite good too actually. I saw a developer walkthrough on that Playr game show on Bravo. The graphics look very polished and very up to date. The gameplay looks similar along with animations which is both good and bad for me. Looking forward to playing both games though :D

PC has always bred a more competitive than cooperative gaming scene... but with Left4Dead I imagine that the culture will shift depending on its success, I can't remember any title on the PC in the past that was sold upon a coop centric experience - if the popularity of it is as high as expected then im sure a lot more games of its breed will begin to be announced.

But even then, there are plenty games that feature coop modes on the PC and usually a coop mod will surface at somepoint for those that don't.

Many moons agao me and a 3 mates would have LAN weekends, we played Hidden and Dangerous and Hidden and Dangerous 2 for days.

Multiplayer Co op is a really cool part of gaming. I would have thought with the modern internet it would have taken off more.

UT3 had co-op, it also had a public campaign mode where anyone could join in and help you with whatever mission you were doing. However due to the game being poor and not many people buying it then it's hard for it to get going.

I bought my 360 for the sole purpose of playing co-op, its better as i have more friends who enjoy playing over Live than people who play over on PC.

I love co-op, much more than competitive game-play which has always before stale for me (excluding 1.6, multiplayer perfection)

Sacred 2 is on the pre-order.

I absolutely bum co-op mode in anything. Far prefer it to competitive play because it's all about team work and the satisfaction you get from working hard with a friend.

Some of the best times I've had gaming are with mates on Rainbow Six Vegas.

And Left4Dead looks *** awesome.

Don't forget the Synergy mod for HL2.

GOW2 might be out on PC and that has coop :)

COOP is great, which is one of the main reasons i got my xbox 360 as it felt like the coop scene on PC was dieing out slowly.. Many an hour i used to play Hidden and Dangerous with my mates at uni :D
