Coast to Coast - for an amateur!

Well I did it! I'm back and home and surprisingly feeling OK.

We arrived in Sunderland at about 6pm today after what was a very cold, wet and windy start to the day. Climbing Rookhope and crossing the moors in what was awful weather was possibly the toughest part of the 3 days, but Whinlatter, Hartside, Nenthead and Blackhill were all very tough climbs and had me questioning what I had let myself in for.

For someone who had done barely any serious riding before 4 weeks ago, there's a real sense of achievement, I'm pretty chuffed with myself tbh. I'd recommend it to anybody thinking of doing it.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice and suggested kit to buy. It all came in very useful :)

Oh... and I noticed I am currently top of the OcUK strava leaderboard... That'll soon change tomorrow :p

Not if you go and do some more miles ;)

Ha, my legs say no! They're a bit sore this morning.

Congrats! Hope you'll keep it up now? ;)

Nice work :) Definitely make sure you keep it up. In 12 months time you'll be knocking out 24 hour C2Cs without too much effort ;)

I do intend to carry on riding, I've really enjoyed it. Next step is to get my first road bike... However I can't see myself being any more than a casual rider, so doing the C2C in one day is pretty unlikely for me I think. But never say never. :)
