As above for HTPC build...
Cant find a header bracket for sale anywhere!?

Anyone know of any?
Has to be coaxial not optical/toslink out.

Its a bit of a rush job, has anyone got one in their spares bag I could buy off them or trade?

thanks. :)

If you're connecting a pair of header pins on the mobo to a RCA socket for SPDIF be careful of the polarity.

I smoked my amp once doing this on cheap ass bodge to a FOXCONN motherboard doing this. (the amp survived, but obviously I botched polarity or which pins I needed).

All subsequent boards I've made sure they had RCA socket for digital out.

Thats exactly what I'm doing.
(Not the second bit hopefully!) :)

Can do a bodge, even just solder an RCA socket directly to the wires from MB pin out and mount RCA socket on slot cover?
But I'd rather not put myself thru that pain if possible...

thanks. :)

can't say I have ever had one of those but i'll have a look in the drawer of abyss when i get home.

Alternatively...

Cheap soundcard with SPDIF RCA output?
Was going to DIY RCA socket connected to SPDIF header on Giogabyte motherbaord, but reading around the web its 5V TLL output for optical, not the 0.5V for coaxial.

Dont want to risk frying any dac thats conencted to the RCA output.

Any advice on this chaps?
The board is Gigabyte Z77M-D3H

thanks.
