An unsonscious bias course, undoubtedly with this sort of nonsense in it was offered at work.

Sign-ups were predictably low in our area - we're probably one of the better examples of a diverse, harmonious workforce anyway so I don't see why it was deemed necessary. Box-ticking I guess but I found the suggestion personally quite insulting.

I think this thread has run it's course, will give it a little while to improve or will close it

Nooooo don't do that. In the face of the growing mountain of memes Coca Cola are inevitably going to come out with either a strange justification or hilarious distancing/backtrack at any time now; an event which will have insufficient substance to justify a new thread in its own right, but will round this one off very nicely.
 
Wouldn't matter if it closed. Some other idiotic corporation will woke "train" their staff within a week :P

That might have been why you were targetted - the whole point of these courses is to destroy diversity and harmony, promoting division and irrational prejudice to create a hostile workplace. I'm surprised you were allowed a choice.
 
It's strange that the BBC call it "anti-racism" yet they have a quota which says their goal is to employ less white people and they intend to discriminate against people on the basis of their skin colour when hiring new staff.

It's odd how similar "racism" and "anti-racism" seem to be?
 
The BBC is also setting targets for hiring more people from working class backgrounds.

Perhaps if they just left it at that, they might end up hiring more ethnically diverse people anyway.

The challenge is how do you determine someone's "class"? Their previous salary, their overall wealth, their parents wealth? Where they grew up, the value of the house they grew up in? The type of car they drive?

You could say the same about Race quite honestly. What about those who are mixed race. Do they benefit from a BAME hiring quota? What if someone who's mixed race has children with someone who's white? Are their children still classed as BAME? How much "white" heritage is premitted before you can no longer identify as BAME to benefit from the BBC's hiring policy?

This is the problem when you start playing the identity politics game rather than providing equal opportunity for everyone.

As much as you want since they tend to operate on the "one drop" philosophy of racial heritage. Have you never noticed how black/white mixed people always identify as black?

As we’re all descended from the first hominids that originated in Africa, doesn’t every human have at least “one drop”?
