Hi,

Been loving this online on ps3 lately but one thing irrks me no end take for instance the game I just played which was free for all (I mostly play this game type) I came second with 80 points the guy that won had 85 he had 18 kills and I had 17 which was fair enough but the thing that gets my goat is he had been killed 18 times and I had only died 5 times!!!! Im sorry but 18 kills for 18 deaths surely wasnt as skillfull as my 17 for 5?? Why doesnt it take this into account when scoring?

Any one else agree/disagree with my thinking?

Cheers,

Hi,

Yeah your right I think im just playing the game wrong maybe I should go in all guns blazing as it doesnt seem to matter how much you die. I just think it makes more sense if they scored the deaths too would make the game more tactical.

My thoughts exactly. There are game types where a more cautious approach is required, but I just don't see CoD as that type of game overall.

You could probably say that using deaths as well as kills would be the purest way of scoring, but I don't know if that would help with the matches being fun (or what I would class as fun). I don't see low deaths and automatically think good player anyway, it could just as easily be someone who only engages when they're 90% sure they will get the kill.

I agree in part but what about my point of he had 18 kills and I had 17 but he had 18 deaths and I only had 5 deaths you cant argue that we werent both fighting and having fun? We were first and second over all.

I agree with the point about about if deaths mattered that much everyone would hide but youd still need to kill to get points. I think it would be fairer if you got most points for killing but say every death you had you had points deducted? Does that not sound reasonable?

deathmatch is exactly that - once you get better at coping with 2 and 3v1s then you will go 18-5 for real, rather than picking and choosing your fights.

I think you kinda hit the nail on the head I think its more the game type im playing. Maybe there should be different scoring systems for each game type? But then the whole thing would just get messy lol
