Gah, I thought for sure this was going back to WW2. But I'm sure Activision would force them into this either way as they'd probably make less console money from a WW2 game.

Shows attack on Pearl Harbor. If it's WW2 and doesn't have too many gadgets then I could get back into COD as I loved WAW.

I am speaking for myself here and I know most other people will not feel the same but I really dislike the whole annual franchise thing. I used to really like COD and Assassin's Creed but the whole annual thing has just killed them for me. A year or 2 gap just makes it more appealing and interesting than a similar game coming out every 12 months.

I agree with you. This is why I don't buy these games any more. I know they will be the same old crap with different skins

Interesting! If it goes through different time periods that'd be pretty sweet. Didn't some of the other Black Ops do that with Vietnam and stuff? We'll see.

This is a very first teaser meant to build a little bit of hype before the reveal. My guess is that this will jump through a bunch of different times throughout the campaign. It's almost insignificant though as most people care about the MP primarily.

Also CoD isn't a yearly franchise if you only play the good ones

And Black Ops 2 was a fantastic PC game.

Every CoD for me now seems to be a question of "does it have dedicated servers?". If it's no, I will skip. So I can't remember the last one I played

The first Black Ops game had dedicated servers. Do not know about the later CODs though as I haven't bought one on PC since.

This looks more of the same. I'm waiting for a new engine before I think about buying another COD, unless it brings something good to the table. (A good WW2 storyline for example.)
