Thats got nothing to do with anything.
The fact half that boycott group bought it anyway was the joke not that it sold well.
which boycott group a massive load of them existed, and again it was still a massive seller despite all the moaning.
fact remains it's a farcical but smart move.
not to mention bug fixes are less likely to go un answered. Whilst i will probably not buy elite i will still buy the game a lot of people are judging before they have all the facts which was excatly the point i was making regarding the mw2 farce about servers.
See the positives.
If customers subscribe they enter a contract with activision and should expect regular fixes and releases to maintain there continued subscription. This will obviously not be fixes for just elite stuff but the basic game that people like myself will be purchasing and enjoying. So in one sense potentially the stuff that often never gets done will be done and everyone will benifit from the subscription fees of those very idiots you mock
It's not blackmail quite the opposite look at the model set out by league of legends and adopted by Team fortress 2 Heroes of new earth and now the COD series.
People will pay for things it's a fact be it in the form of character skins or weapons.
LOL is an entierly free game for thousands but for some they buy into it and get special skins and access to cool champions early. it doesn't affect the game play it just enhances the experience for them.
People mock them for wasting money in a free game but it is that money that ensures bug fixes and continued involvement from the developers to keep the game balanced and bug free and it is absurd to see it as a bad thing.
but go head buy bf3 get one up on activision.................
