Hi all,

Well i bought COD2 (before this played the demo flawless) I've gone to install it today everything seemed fine, i go to load the game i get the splash screen COD2 , it goes to load at which i get a black screen then it goes to desktop :(

un installed 3x reinstalled 3x
Vice versa for installed
+ Patched to 1.3

Also done an uninstall manually via registry then reinstalled again + Patched to 1.3

I've updated my gfx drivers

& I've tried installing via Steam also but it hates the key.

a tad miffed really.

i never use the startup splash screen to install my games , always via explore and via the startup.exe,

it's baffled me to hell, lucky it was only 9.99 :P

Okay C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\main\

But there isn't a Players dir :( or any configs

its defo not C2D , not looked at the activision forums as of yet, think im just going to leave it , I've tried everything under the sun.

Just tried that , and still the same , ive given up on it tbh , going buy it from steam

**Update**

I've noticed when i install from DVD - with the install music my sound goes mental (i never noticed before as i didn't have headphones in) a really mad static sounds , & i've noticed when this happens it freezes my mouse for 10seconds ish on random occasions & i have to alt tab to gain my mouse back & it takes bloody ages to install from DVD - 30mins + but 5-6mins via HDD

I have a pic below of my sound devices & i also have an unknown device?! i have no idea what its for :P

I have an Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card,

I do have the on board sound card disabled in BIOS, & also ive copied the whole of COD2 to my HDD to see if the sound corruption was causing an install error , when installing from the HDD , it installs fine with out any faults or sound issues
