Use both sniper rifles,

Keep an eye out for movement and keep checking all areas that they spawn from.

Be patient

1 Bullet = 2 kills no less.

What Level is the Silo?

Im just slowly taking it atm, sorta level a day when i got time started it on Veteran almost finished the first British Mission, done the three Russian ones

Ah Right ok then, just finished another Brit mission, was easy (the one where you in the tanks)

So far there have been a few moments that have annoyed me but generally ok, not looking forward to DDay though saw my mate play it on normal and looked like it will be bast on Veteran

As advised, use both sniper rifles and switch between them so you can shoot for twice as long before having to reload one of them. Do your best to memorise exactly where the germans setup mortars and you should be ok.

I found some missions on hardened quite easy, but on vet it was a totally different story.

Did it!

meh, that wasn't really that hard tbh once you have taken the German HQ. The sniping part at the end is defo harder on vert than hardened as you dont get any checking points at all - which added to the challenge. Now i just need to do that bloody last level on the Hill 400 missions on vet ("Battle for Hill 400") and i'm 1000/1000. muar!

On a side note, the difference between this level on vet and hardened is quite high.

Tips of the day from me: After clearing the "D" objective use the MG42 in the window facing the Post Office and spam bullets to in the lower floor. As you can take out a load of soldiers easy this way. Also, enter the post office from the right as there are no guards that side.

Off to watch Hostel now :)

What part are you on?

The one where you have to take the Hill or when you and your depleted squad are at the top and have to defend for so many minutes?

If its the latter, I have an absolutely awsome tip that helps loads.

Hmm I loved CoD1 and have owned this game for a while but not really played it. What difficulty do you all recommend I start on?

Veteran without a doubt, it's one of the best experiences I have had on a game.

Are you playing on Xbox360 or PC?

360 but I struggle a bit with analogue sticks and FPS's bar Halo2. Still reckon veteran and how is XBL multiplayer? The new maps worth the price?

I started on Veteran, i wouldnt so much say its hard but more frustrating - its strange to explain - still fun though :D

Had a few blats on multiplayer, its ok but nothing special imo - not gonna be getting extra maps myself :)

Seems it skipped the last brit mission when i selected "Next Mission" and im on D-Day - done the first part, and about a third of the 2nd section. The Silo after :( - think ill take a short break though :)

never had any type of problem on the silo mission, but then again ive forgotten what difficulty setting the game is on! Knowing me its on easy as pie!

It goes back later to make you play the last brit mission.

I found the sniping bit fairly easy compared to the rest, did it on my 2nd attempt :)
Copy...

Edit: Actually, I did it on my first attempt too, but fell down the ladder and died, resulting in my having to do it again.

I did that too :( :o Ended up screaming in anger before realising that the game saved a checkpoint just before I fell.
