COD2 worth it online?

Is COD2 full of hakcers or what, when i play cs:s i see many talking of how full of hackers it is, when I had COD2 before I finished but dial-up at the time :p, but now am fully equipped with broadband shall i grab a copy?
 
tbh ive installed COD1 now and i seem to find that a lot more enjoyable that COD2 is. Although COD2 didnt really bring many new maps, it just updated the old ones. Mostly
 
Yes it's worth it. There are still cheaters on there but you just gotta find decent servers that don't have so many on or servers where they kick the cheaters.

There are a lot of custom maps around now, I find it rather cramped though as the maps are so small. I tend to switch games from time to time and play a bit of 1942 as well.
 
no its not imo, id go for either cod1 or UO instead. much better gaming experience for me compared to cod2. cod2's community isnt one of the best, although im sure there are a lot of decent ones, cod+uo players seem friendlier
 
cod 1 in its day was the best online game ever, the community spirit was class

the community was divided over UO,

and 70% of them hate cod 2 mp because of the console port
 
Having played all the CoD games this is the most “dumbed down” release, however…buy it! as it’s still great fun ;) I advice playing on servers that accommodate 10-16 players especially when you first get online as any higher and the action is too manic for the map sizes IMO.

As for cheats, they're very rare but extremely obvious when present (all kills headshots etc :mad: ) so there's no need for paranoia IMO as there are many good experienced players out there who have played the CoD games since there inception (like myself, however don't be put off by this as the learning curve is not massive). Although I'm frequently accused of cheating myself :mad: due to my high kills to death ratios:o but that’s through skill with a rifle/smg combination:D
 
Cod 2 online is a joke, i thought cod1 was bad enough with grenade spamming but this makes it seem like cod1 had no nade spammers. The regenerating health is also one of the dumbest features ive ever seen in a pc game especially in it online component, can't half tell this game was nothing more than a direct 360 port over.

Well even if it is a direct port, it's possibly the best ports i've ever seen. The game looks absolutely stunning and i've not had any performance issues at all unlike many other ports (such as NFS:U2).

The grenade spamming wasn't really that bad in CoD1, you just needed to know where to throw em and make good use of what your given. For me, the smoke grenades ruin the game more than anything, but they are a lot more controlled than in UO.
 
UO is a much more skilled game, where as CoD2 anyone can pick it up & do well.

But, once you play it a bit CoD 2 does really begin to shine. Loads of cutom maps (which usually auto download) & playing for a clan in matches can sometimes be really nail bitting, especially in search & destroy when it's a close game :)
