CoD4 Game save

i have been playing CoD4 from a CD for ages now and it has now become the only game i have that's not on Steam. do you think if i bought the game on steam and moved my Profiles folder over it would let me keep my multiplayer score??

Im guessing so since there are plenty youtube videos that allow you to jump to 10th Prestige Profiles so im guessing using your own legit non cheating save would work.

It works with a regular CoD4 install so imagine it'll work with swapping to Steam. Just copy the 'players' folder accross. Other things to possibly copy over would be the 'Mods' and 'usermaps' folders if you play a lot of modded servers.
