hello,

Right, the problem is ....

I was playing through SP in Arcade Mode and decided to take a screenshot so i could compare when i got my new graphics card. Hit F12... then BSOD .. Computer rebooted, once it was back on tried to startup SP again and it asked something like "COD4 was not shut down properly, would you like to start in safe mode ?" me been me thought nah, clicked, loaded up and it's deleted all my SP data. It's left nothing
I was wondering if there's anyway of getting back without playing through again? Also it hasn't effected my MP profile (touch wood) is there anyway i can backup my MP profile incase my computer decides to go crazy again ?
Last question :p, could the BSOD have corrupted my SP so i'll have to do a re-install ? or am i just extremely unlucky that it deleted it ?

Thxs for any help

Hmm might have been better posted in the HUMONGOUS COD4 thread. :p

What graphics card have you got? What PSU as well? Latest drivers?

If you're lucky you might be able to use something like Recuva to get the profile files back.

As for backing profiles up, on my PC my profile folder is at C:\Program Files\Activision\Call Of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\. Might be the same for your PC. ;)

I didn't even see the COD4 Thread lol, currently on a 8300GS  so that'll proberly be the problem. (Waiting for my 8800GT to arrive :D)
For some strange reason my profiles hidden away in appdata\local\virtualstore\ then in program files

Also thanks for the Recuva link, i was able to recover about half my SP data. So in theory i now have an extra 3-4 hours spare from not having to replay the full game again :D

No probs. Glad it worked. Depending on how much of the data has been overwritten by newer stuff you can get a fair amount back. I copied a file from one disk to another and deleted it by mistake, intending to delete the other files on the target disk. First thing I did was to install Recuva and luckily it got 100% of the mistakenly deleted file back. :)
