COD4 iw3mp.exe Error

I had this error too ..... most frustrating.

I resolved it by finding out my issue was caused by me filtering servers in a zombie mod that I had been playing. Every time I wanted to look for regular servers the game would crash with this error.
I rectified this issue by loading up the mod and removing the filters I had applied whilst playing the mod.

updates my drivers there, audio drivers, chipset drivers and my gfx driver, I'm still getting this stupid error, its so annoying, im at the point of formatting my pc just to see.

I had the same problem. I cut a headphone socket off and just plugged it into the back of the pc into the mic socket of the ONBOARD soundcard and it fixed the problem.

Realtek drivers are the issue.

Until they fix it this has worked. If I need to plug a mic in, i just use the front socket.
