COD4 live multi player

I'm trying to play with my mate on live and I can't add him (hes here with me not over the net).

How do you do it?

if its possible with COD4, then you need to sign him in as a guest

You definitely can't do it. It's stupid removing features like this as you could do it in CoD3.
