Then what happens with the consoles version? The engine isn't flexible enough to produce Crysis++ graphics on the PC whilst downscaling to consoles without them having to be essentially be making several different games simultaneously. Creating an engine that does both cutting edge graphics with multiplatform rendering built in would take years. Adding to that Infinity Ward aren't known for their game engines, they've never done anything outside the usual with the technology and for however much the Tech3 engine in CoD4 was rewritten it is clear where their coder's influences lay. So it would be best to leave people breaking ground in the game engine dept. to it and hope IW picks up on a better one eventually (fingers crossed for Tech5).

Blame the consoles, the thing still needs to be run on them. In fact, graphics for consoles might have to be reduced slightly as there seemed to be more moving elements in the game world.

Hopefully they keep the graphics at least the same for the PC, if not a bit better from COD4. Can't wait for this!

Welcome to the world of consolised ports, the original cod had proper recoil, as soon as cod2 went multiplatform not even the mp was changed to suit the pc. =/

I've been playing a lot of COD4 recently, and played all of them a lot since the first one, however COD never really gives me that "wow" factor, it's just damn good fun. Not a lot of stuff happens that make me smile! Not sure if that makes sense (as an example, Battlefield 2 IS one of the games that makes me do this!)
