If you do decide to be a sniper I find using the first sniper rifle, claymores, stopping power and iron lungs a good combo.

I didn't, you lot just started playing hardcore once i started getting bored with COD 4. I used to play hardcore when nobody was online also

Movement is the biggest give away in this game. I can see any movement straight away. Still people can be missed - especially someone on creek in a ghillie suit
