unfortunately we have had the option taken away of joining a larger server because we are too thick or something along those lines

I'm disappointed with this whole situation as well 
I've never actually played COD4 single-player to the end, but I played multiplayer on a daily basis.
For me, COD4 is the multiplayer game.
For some reason (do now they control access to all possible additional content to the game?) they have decided to throw away this community of players.
8v8 gaming? That is a huge step backwards in my opinion. The size of maps in modern fps games make 8v8 a very dull experience.
Like others, I wish i had pre-ordered so I could register my disapproval by cancelling.

So this is what the PC gaming community has been reduced to. Cheers Infinity Ward and Activision. You guys sure know how to reward us since it was US gamers who made you famous. All those clans out there who spent their free time, cash, effort into making the MP fun for people like me can now no longer do so. I love playing on servers on MW1 with more than 24 players. It adds to the thrill and excitement.

everyone seems to be in love with DICE, who seem like they've just seen an oppertunity to gain some praise by stepping in and grabbing attention.
im sure a lot of the people who've boycotted the game will end up buying it and playing it.
everything ive seen of the gameplay in both SP and multiplayer shows that this will be based on smaller, more tactical battles anyway.

dam console gaming is taking over, in a couple years pc gaming might even be DEAD !

Screw 'em, pre-order cancelled. I've got L4D2 and Borderlands to look forward too anyway and I'll be playing both on my PC because they'll look and play a lot better on it than on my 360. IW should show more respect for their (rapidly diminishing) PC fanbase.

Times like this is why i prefer valve games , iw/activision have really shafted the cod series
I had already decided not to buy this game when I heard about the the lack of dedicated servers, but this just backs up that IW want to treat PC gamers like crap, I would rather give my money to Valve for L4D2 and save the rest for other games next year.

Personally I won't be buying any Activision games, even if I really want them, because of that ***** in charge and some of the stuff he has been quoted as saying recently.
