Seems mega expensive on steam, it's around £20 from online shops

Can i register a shop bought key on steam? or is it one of those games that won't work like that

No shop games work like that, then you could just the sell the game but keep playing it on steam.

Steam version is expensive because it's expensive, end of.

Oh well I bought prey last year off a website for a fiver and never opened it. I forgot about it and only remembered that I bought it when it came down to $5 a few weeks ago. I then registered it with steam and it worked fine. Maybe this was a glitch?

Steam is expensive but i find it handy, i like the auto updating etc and that i can re-download as i wish.

The only reservation i have is when their authentication servers go down or their data centres blow up, people wont be able to play

shop bought games, regisered on steam with the key

get the retail one,i seem to recall that there was a few problems with the steam one early on, cant remember any detail though. unless your desperate to have no cd then get retail

Even if it was £20 more than a retail copy?

i paid more for cod4 on steam on release day. i cant remember what the difference was at the time. i think you have to apply a bit of common sense here. i pay extra to have games my games on steam because of the benefits it brings. its up to you if you want to pay another £20 for it though.

Yeah I think that steam has great benefits but not enough to justify £20 or so more on games like cod4 and bioshock.

For example I got cod4 special edition for £22 retail and if I wanted the steam basic version it was $70 about £36. It made sense to get the reatail version.

If the game is the same price on steam and retail then i'm gonna buy it. like the Orange Box.

Don't buy from Steam!

Please don't buy from Steam.. I paid for COD4 on Steam to get on release date..

It included : No printed manual, No physical Media(dvd) yet I paid a lot more for it?!?!?

Then when the 1st patch came out I was stuck waiting for Days for steam to release it. I could not play online with all my friends who had the Shop bought version!

I am never buying from steam again...

- Before you ask no the shop bought patch did not work on steam version..

Lol shadow, do you reallllly need a manual? "Press mouse button to fire, like any other fps..", and the whole point is NOt to have a dvd so you can install wherever whenever.

:/
