^Thats what i'm thinking, why the hell do we care about dollars? we work with these beasts "£" so who cares, we wont be paying 70 quid, we'll be paying about 35, so why does it matter if its the most expensive thing on steam?!

Its available for £19.99 though, I like steam but non valve games seem way over priced. As above, the orange box was $50, and that was 3 games.
Nothing i have seen of COD4 says its better value than orange box :(

Games retail in the USA at $50.

£35 is still too much when you consider it costs £30 in store, plus you get a DVD, manual, and an actual human serving and help you.

It works out about 30 quid...thats normal for a new game init?

Your forgetting there would be VAT on top of that as well so its about £33 plus another £5 or so. Even most retail gaming stores dont sell PC games as much as that, more likly between £29 and £34 for new games.

Silly me thinking the fact the thread started with "COD4", and related to the price and availability of "COD4", had any relation to COD4...

He didn't mean it in a nasty way! He was just saying the thread has turned into more of a debate about game prices in retail verses Steam and now has little to do with CoD4 itself.

No I clearly posted this thread about the price of COD4 on STEAM!
I don't care about the games graphics, story or multiplayer all I wanted was a debate on the rip off price it is on steam.
And that I got!

well if you are gonna pay for games from big high street chains then prepare to get bent over the counter and penetrated hard

similarly with non valve titles most of the time

PC games cost £40 near you?! remind me not to ever move there :D;)
I do not think he and many others know that online shopping exists. COD4 can be had for as little as £22 one or two days prior to release and almost all other games are less than £26. I have no idea why people have this illogical need to defend Steam. Each to their own, but do not try to defend something that makes no sense.
