CoD4 problem (exit to desktop)

On Vista 64 and Win7 64.

It's not launching. When I double click iw3mp.exe it just starts up and then closes down to desktop
 
made sure you've updated to latest drivers? or tried different drivers?

also wasn't there a issue with this game and some sound cards, thats if you have one, update the drivers for that to if possible

I made this thread a week or so ago because I was having exactly the same problem. I found this to fix the issue but it's only applicable if you're using Realtek audio. Thread is here.

Whatever the problem is I believe it's audio related. You could have a look over on the Call of Duty forums as I think there's a fix over there that developers have confirmed works also. Link to the COD4 forums is here.

You can do that, or you can disable the port. Whichever works best. :)
 
had this prob after gettin new gfx card, for me it seemed to be cause by ati tray tools
which is 1st time ive used it since was nvida card before, so try disablin a few
programs ur runnin before runnin cod
 
still no go :(

I have a foxconn blackops coming next week, hopefully that will magically solve the problem.
