COD4 - seta com_maxfps "0"

Hi, i noticed when i set this to zero from the default of 85, the game started to freeze, then recover about 30 secs later. I have since reduced the value to 100. Is this a common issue?

THANK YOU - When it's on unlimited im getting up 200 fps. And yes, the default is 85. The reson why i'm asking is that if i set it to 100 i get no freezes etc. Just wondering if some how COD4 is pushing my graphics card to hard.

There is a temptation to "uncap" the frame rate using the
/com_maxfps 0
command in console. However, as mentioned in earlier posts, the best set up is one where the frame rate stays constant and you match it with a maxpackets value in such a way that results in an integer number when you divide frame rate into maxpackets (i.e. Maxpackets/FPS = integer). This idea is captured in the "Sweet Spot " post in our CoD2 tweak section).

I'll try this out tonight.

Without doubt the best thing about COD4, I'd like to see some Pistol & Knife servers up with a good 40 odd players on it. Limited to 1 mag of 6 & No nades, Nowt better than dancing around with a knife circling your oppponent waiting to strike. Trouble with COD4 is the maps are to small & there is always somebody else about to interfere with a knife fight.

Respect to the players that see a Dude holding a knife & switch to there knife to have it
For me that player gets Instant respect

I think that goes without saying for all games... I've only been playing for 2 days but i was on a 30+ ffa on the ship map and it was awesome. Plenty of opportunity to get the knife out. My fav is when someone is running and you can cut them off and take them out from behind.

lol. Quick question. I got COD4 a few days ago and i was wondering if there is some sort of overall points rating? Or, is it server specific?
