COD4 still playable?

Hello,

As per the title really, im yet to play a cod game on the pc (have had all since number 3 on the xbox) COD4 is still my favourite but is unplayable on the xbox due to hacker scumbags, is the PC version littered with the same problem?

Have seen it for £10 so im tempted.

It's still as good as ever. Barely any hackers and plenty of 30+ player servers. I recommend not installing any patches though.

Last time I played 6months ago many servers and I never noticed any cheaters

Conversly, when I played MW2 on PS3 every server was hacked well at least 9/10..what a joke

I assumed therefore consoels worse for hackers.

Plus PC has punkbuster

Havnt played it for a couple of months but cant say i saw any more hackers than other games

why not isntall pathces?

You can only play online people on smae patch so doesnt everyone have up to date patches?

MW1 is my favoutire cod online, anyone else agree?

Up there with Quake 3 for me personally, both being the greatest FPS online games ever.

Haven't played COD4 in awhile but it was only a few months ago I stopped playing and was fairly active then and the big advantage over MW2/3 you could find some decent regularly populated servers with a good regular crowd and admins who actually had half a clue when it came to spotting people wallhacking/botting and kicking them (and generally able to tell actual good players from cheaters) so you can usually find a mostly cheat free server to play on.

Just had a quick shot yesterday, since it came free with MW3 through steam. Was a good number of populated servers and no problems the matches I was in. Well worth a look, think I'll pop in over the next few months and relearn the maps and get a prestige done.

lol at not installing patches means there will be even more hackers on the servers you on

still best recent fps but i get banned from all pubs with is so boring now

hackwise yes it can be bad but you can spot people easy if you know what you looking for

Cod4 , such a legendary game. I still play it daily if I can, havent for a few week's as have been busy but still heavily played in the community and at LANS. Lans have boycotted any call of duty game after 4 for the PC at lans because of how they dummbed it down for PC

Bottom line, yes it's amazing still. Yes it's active.

no texture packs as really it is still pretty good on high settings, but promod which is the professionals mod for competition get's rid of a lot of game elements for a better play style
