We said Call of Duty 4 beta details would be coming soon, but we didn't realize it would be this soon. In a late night forum post by Jason West, Studio Head of Infinity Ward, it was announced that early sign up for the beta will begin today at 5PM PT. For those of you keeping score, that's about six hours from now. Furthermore, the post announces that those who make it into the early sign up could be playing as early as tonight. You know, tonight, as in this evening. Finally, the post announces that the beta will be rolled out in waves, with more people being added over time. So, if you don't make it in today, hold tight, as more players will be added every day.

This was info was released at about 2.00pm today, i've signed up in the anticipation that i would be first up, but upon reading on charlieoscardelta.com it seems that it will be the states first then to the rest of the world.

Sign up now.... http://www.charlieoscardelta.com

just reading their website now:

Initially, in order to get underway we'll be rolling-out in the United States. As soon as we're able to confirm which other countries are good to go we'll be back to update everybody.

so it will be coming to us eventually, thought i might as well sign up early anyway

If only that was true :(
It's pretty close imo, however, the problem is that even if the likes of GTA4 had a beta, it would sure as hell not be a Europe only beta. The US will always get that first and foremost on the 360 because:

Most publishers are US based
Microsoft
The US is the biggest market for the 360

Activision are certainly following the EA business model, churning out enhanced versions of the same game every year.

I loved CoD2 but tbh when a franchise comes out this frequently I have to question the quality of the game and certainly I have to ask "What more have you added, is it just shinier graphics?"

Its like THPS (another Activision game) I stopped buying it at 3 because IMO that is where the game peeked. I played 4 and a bit of THUG but imo 3 was the pinnacle.

True but COD 3 wasn't made by infinity ward so any gamer should have known it wasn't a real COD game. This is vastly different to COD 2, you rerally can't compare it. They've worked very hard on the multiplayer side, i think its going to be very very good.
