Just brought this awesome game, can someone advise me on what settings to use. Rig is in sig, gaming on a 24'' so not sure what res is best for me aswell.

You could look in the massive thread about game, I would think there will be settings there.

COD4 plays well on medium machines I think, whack it all to max/high test with fraps maybe and work your way back from there? :cool:

Not really played many PC, iam a newcomer. Iam guessing my X1950 PRO might find it hard work. Got a 19'' second screen rigged up aswell.

Do you normally just whack everything on high, then slowly work the settings down until the game runs ok?

It will probably play max out at 1440*900 on the 19" screen. So I'd probably run that on the 24" as well.

The max res for 19'' is 1280x1024 :confused:

I thought the game had a way of setting the game up for your PC, which you can then increase/decrease depending on how well it plays/doesn't play.

Hmmm, its not WS. Any idea how I can up the res in win to that? In display the max it has is 1280x1024 and the same in CCC.

You can't, if it's a 4:3 19" the max resolution is 1280x1024. The max resolution for 24" is 1920x1200.

Play it on the 19" and put the settings higher. Much better experience than on the 24" with much much lower settings.

Just lower the res and play it in a non-native resolution on the 24" with the eyecandy turned up, it'll still look good.

right simple easy solution = optimal settings for a start.then enter a game online enter /cg_drawfps 1 then maxfps 0 in console look at floor or sky see what fps u get.once you got your max fps deduct 50 fps and do same fps command and add the figure you have but with the deducted 50fps.

if anyone wants to know why your graphics card needs to run smootly at a constant fps which is attainable and some maps are worse than others most hardcore cod players know this anyway.
