Imo nothing compares to CoD2 vet. To show how simple it is, I finished the TV station bit on Vet mode without firing a bullet. I'm using the same silly tactics as I used in CoD 2 & 3. Just rush forward and force the checkpoint before the enemy has time to settle into their positions.

So far in 24hrs I've done quite a few levels on vet mode and found them very easy, compared to CoD2's, which had me stumped in places for days. Checkpoints seem to be closer to each other than CoD3 you'll be pleased to know.
 
I've just started playing the story mode through and been pretty easy so far, I take it it gets harder as you go along? I've just finished the bit where the nuke goes off at the end...
