codecs!

always used k-lite codec packs for audio and video i have downloaded, but just wondering since i rebuilt my computer what else is out there, lite weight and spyware free? i'm running Vista SP1 now

vista codec pack, light weight and brilliant, if its x64 get the component tools as well. I wouldn't use anything else with vista.

just tried installing on my work pc

(xp) and that failed, but it does say 'Vista codec'

- will try this at home later, cheers guys

i did use vista codec pack, but it messed up media player for some reason, so went back to using K-Lite Codec Pack and havent had a problem since

I tend to stay away from codec packs as they install too much stuff than you actually need.

Xvid Codec
Core AVC
AC3 Filter

That sorts me out.
