Coded WWII message found

I just decoded it, it was easy!

"Send three and fourpence, we're going to a dance"

/edit - In all seriousness though, that's absolutely fascinating. I'd love to know what it really does say.

Not sure it should be reffered to as a hero or decorated for bravery given that it failed to complete it's mission and died in a chimney without delivering it's message.

Still it's an interesting story and I'd love to know what the message says.

Good point. Thanks to his incompetence we might have all been speaking German right now! Court martial his remains.

Imagine if the message was something huge and it could have stopped the war a year or so early if it had got through?

I saw this on the news the other week and they said it was really rare for the messages to be in code so obviously important.
