Hi all,

I recently upgrade and bought a 4870x2 and a Samsung 2493HM.

Every time i cold boot up the monitor seems to have a fit. it doesn't detect the signal from my 4870x2... however if i reboot via button, it immediately works...

Any ideas? full system =

Vista x64
Q6600 @ 3.2
Abit IP35 pro
4x 1gb Gskill
Gigabyte 4870x2
Samsung 24" 2493HM
2 x samsung 500g in Raid 0

/edit also a Corsair HZ620w

It isn't a power supply issue has i have a power monitor plugged in and it hasn't gone over 350w i think not tested it in anything else other than WoW atm

Does it boot up, with no screen? I know thats hard to tell but if the hard drive light is going, all the USB devices will probably flash off then on during boot.

My point is, does it get into Windows, I had a problem a while ago where when it was in Windows it would come to life. Was something to do with my PCI-e sound card IIRC

its really weird.

If i shut down my PC but leave the plugs on (so wall plugs are on, and PSU switch is still on). it wont boot properly. cant find signal etc.

I have tried entering my windows password at the right point, computer looks like its doing stuff, things are loading etc but i dont seem to load fully in....

If i shutdown PC and turn plugs off, its fine in the morning... so i may just do this every night. Just seems very weird thats all. i'll try again tonight and report back tomorrow

I used to have the same thing. The computer would be working cos I'd hear the vista log in noise but there was no display, it'd only work after being restarted or if the plug had been off before hand. I used to flick the PSU switch off and on again before booting to get around it.

The problem stopped when I got a new motherboard so it might be down to bios or something like. Might be worth making sure you have the latest
