Cold called by scum

It's bad enough getting cold calls by salespersons trying to sell you windows, kitchens etc but I just got one from someone representing the Compensation Claims Bureau.

unknown comes up on my phone

"Hello"

"is that Peter?"

"who's this?"

"Hi I'm from the Compensation Claims Bureau and am phoning to find out if you've had any accidents within....."

hangs up.

If I ever had a genuine reason to try and claim compensation, and not some trumped up ******** like we see in these adverts on TV, then I wouldn't need some money grabbing company cold calling me.

Ah well.

I hate these people, the ones which sit outside shops I generally get disproportionately angry at

We got so many of these when we got our phone line activated, I think the previous tenants must have filled in every form going.

We got one called call asking if we'd like their services writing a will. Very random I thought.

Sometimes if I'm a bit bored I go along with it for a while and they "actually I'm not interested, I've just been wasting your time so you can't deal with a real customer. Please remove me from your records." if the operator is on commission they can get pretty annoyed
 
We also continue to get these cold calls - I put one "on hold" the other day while I went to get the home owner, left the phone by the telly with the Classical Music Channel playing.

I went back every few mins to check and say "Your call is important to me" :p

When i was a kid my grandad used to answer the phone to these cold callers then tell them he was really interest in whatever they were selling, then would say "just give me 2 seconds someones at the door" then he would put the phone on the side and continue watching telly and leave them on the other end.

Got some a while back,

took the name of the company and where it is based and said i am registered with the TPS and not supposed to recieve these calls and i am going to report your company who will be fined, i reccomend you remove me off your records immediatley, Needlesss to say didnt report them and never heared from the company again.

Remember most of these people are halfway across the world and dont know what the TPS is so they will believe what you say, just sound annoyed, one guy didnt even know where his company was based.!!!
