.....I suffer from cold feet - Once the wheather gets cold i have cold feet! How do i deal with this in term of wearing the right socks. I have tried sporty ones, sweat socks and what not but i still tend to feel my feet chilled and it is really uncomfortable :( At the moment, i just double my socks but it doesnt help once im out in the cold....

PS
This aint medical thread so refrain from anything that might be classed as medical. Thanks.

thermal socks i would have thought, the kind you get from hiking shops and stuff those and decent shoes

but i'd expect a lot more people would suffer from this than you think, myself included, i generaly just deal with it or wear two pears of socks

1 thin sock and one ski sock, then put on some good shoes like CATs to help keep them warm - well it works for me.

I know you can also get heated socks, but i dono much about them, like if they can get wet.

here is small battery powered pair (quite cheap aswell) most of them have come from the motorbike area, so u need to be able to plug into a powersupply (such as a bike :P)

This is usually a womans problem, probably due to their wearing skirts so their legs are bare but as you're a bloke it must be something else.

I seem to remember someone telling me they had cold hands and feet because their stomach was working hard at digesting something and interfered with circulation. Not sure how true that is but it's plausible I guess.

Are your shoes too tight? That can cause cold feet. Other than that a pair of ski socks should be enough for most people to keep themselves warm.

No, they are just about right. I have tried the ski socks too but after a whilw it just start to feel cold and sort of damp....

damp feeling is lack of air circulation as your feet sweat, but that just makes them colder. Make sure you have good insoles that allow air to circulate around your feet. And get good ski socks as they help with the breathing of your feet aswell.

try wearing an extra layer on your body, your extremities get cold due to your body reducing bloodflow to them because it needs to keep your torso and head warm for the important things, if you warm your body up by wearing a jumper then the blood will reach your feet easier.

IIRC Raz wears skirts  I saw the pic once,

The Heated socks seem a good idea :)

Be like robbing hood and wear stockings, they are very warm, I should know, When I was little my mother forced me to wear them under my trousers in the winter...... Oh the scars of childhoold *Runs way to a dark place*

I think it's down to poor blood circulation. I've always suffered from having cold feet. My feet rarely sweat. I can actually feel my legs suddenly get colder just below the knees. The only 2 ways to warm them up again it to either sit with my feet on a radiator or go for a walk.

TBH My feet are always ice cold, but generaly thats my fault (If inside or around the house) As I dont wear shoes unless im going out somewhere, if I go for a walk or anything my hands, face and feet are frozen by the time I get back, I tend to wear realy thick thermal socks, and for some reason if I wear a wooly hat my feet are warmer.... tell me the logic there if you can... but try it

Also dont put your feet near a heat source, you will get chill blanes when your older and there supose to be very painfull... Like piles maybe

Most heat is lost through your head and like FiremanSam says if you are cold then the body concentrates the blood(and heat therefore) at the most vital parts.
