Hi,

Hope you can help.

I have having problems issues with Cold Reboot issues when turning on a machine for the first time.

Any ideas how this can be solved.

I have ensured I have the latest BIOS and have changed memeory between different manufactures, but still same issue.

Your help would be much apperciated.

Thanks

Motherboards in question are Giga-byte.

I have had similar issue's motherboard is Gigabyte Z77-D3H running an i5-2500k at 4.3ghz 1.33v currently.

If I run it at stock there is no problem so have been doing so for the last few months then decided to reinstate my overclocks and now the way I get around it is to put the machine to sleep rather then shutdown.

This way it doesn't have to POST each time I switch it on which seemed to be where the problem lay, as I say no overclocks and it works fine.

Hi,

Many thanks for the info.

I do not overclock and generally use the auto settings, but are having these issues more often than not.

When PC boots, no issues at all!

With regards to DRAM, the voltage says 1.5v, what should I increase this to?

Many Thanks

P.S - Is this a common problem?

Boards I use are : -

GA-H61M-S2PV (latest BIOS)
GA-B85M-D3H (lastest BIOS)

HELP!!

I only had the problem when overclocked so I couldn't say it was a faulty board, and as I say more often then not it would take 3-4 POSTs before eventually booting Windows.

In fact sometimes it even took 6-7 reposts, that's when I got fed up and removed the overclock.

So I know the board works fine at stock settings should I wish to sell the machine at some stage but for now just putting it to sleep gets around the problem + it starts up quicker.

Obviously since you are having this problems at stock its impossible to say whether the board is faulty and you really wouldn't want to try my sleep fix as you shouldn't need too.

Real strange, as the problems does occur on quite a few machines, so I can not even pinpoint down to a single board.

No bent pens etc on socket.

How do I increase the voltage on the DRAM?

The RAM says 1.5 V, so what should I increase this to?

Many Thanks

Yeah run the RAM at its voltage specification that might help.

Hi,

On Auto it look like it is 1.5v.....

Should I increase. If so, what should I increase too.

I do not overclock, but would like a stable system!!!

Many Thanks

Robert

try with 1.55-1.6v dram voltage and between 1.25-1.3v qpi/vtt voltage for the integrated memory controller

Thanks. I will give it a try.

Will this damge my equipment in any way?

Also, if this fixes it, what would the cuase of the issue be?

Many Thanks

Don't worry if your RAM is spec'd at 1.5V setting it to that manually won't do no harm and in fact it should be set to that. Give it a whirl and I hope it solves your problem.
