Colin Murray Dropped from MOTD2!!! YAY!!!

I liked him too :(

Seemed to make motd2 watchable, the new guy is too serious and in the "it was better in my day" old man armchair club of most motd pundits.

Don't worry they'll replace him with someone equally if not more annoying....

Adrian Chiles --> Colin Murray --> Train wreck of a presenter

Chappers is light years ahead of chiles and Murray. He is more insightful, asks better questions and is particularly good at getting his experts to offer insight.

He has worked his socks off to increase his profile over time and I am delighted he is getting some recognition.
Bravo bbc

Chapmans voice just makes me cringe, I detested him on the radio now I have to see and hear him. I'll stick to the ESPN app.

Happy Days!!! He is/was the worst presenter. He was on R1 , he was on Ch5 and still is on the Beeb.

Only strange think is he has progressed this far!

He's very good on 5 Live, i think he's more suited to radio than tv.
Chiles has slightly less charisma than my goldfish.
Is Lynam available ?

Can't say I liked Murrays style massively. Just didn't seem to ask great questions and made strange comments that just seemed to make it awkward at times.

I think that's what appealed to me about him on MOTD2. He was so dry that he somehow oozed personality. I guess it didn't work on the ITV sofa though!

Was chuffed when Murray replaced him, but the childish/cartoonish tone of his first season was cringe-worthy - at a timeslot when children couldn't watch it on a Sunday night and nothing at all to appeal to adults. What were they thinking?

It's been much better this season, and I don't mind his confrontational style. If it mixes things up then it's all good in my opinion.

Chapman (who I don't mind on 5 Live) will be solid, professional and ask the right questions, but he's very much a yes man and, dare I say it, he'll be quite boring. MOTD2 will be very much just another MOTD, whereas previously they've been different shows with different styles and I liked the contrast.

So the BBC looked at what a great job that Gary Neville is doing on Sky and decided that the way to catch up was to get rid of the one person on MOTD with any personality? I'm no great fan of Colin Murray but as least he was enthusiastic.

It's not the presenters who are the problem; the problem with MOTD is the pundits. Dull big name ex-players who have no insight to offer and the old guard who've given up trying. Imagine the money they're on. Imagine how many ex-pros there are out there who do know what they're talking about, still have a passion for the game and can communicate effectively. I bet there's plenty from the lower leagues.

Personally I'd get rid of the BBC's entire pundit team with the exception of Dixon.

Lee Dixon works for ITV.
Never heard of this 'Chappers' bloke but will give him a chance.
Dan Walker is the best football front man they have IMO.

As for freshening up the old guard I think on MOTD2/3 they have tried to do that a bit bringing in the likes of Dion Dublin, not that I necessarily think he was a good choice.

Thing is it has always been this way, I remember a while back when Jimmy Hill was on there people would say they need new faces, he left and the likes of Lawrenson came in, if him and Hansen move on then people will want to see the back of Shearer, etc.
