Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would like to join the team the team created to represent OcUK? Unfortunatly Jayrex is no longer member or founder of the team any more and neither are a lot of others due to the fact of prelonged inactivity. How ever this now leaves the door wide open for new members. The main rule is that you remain active. Now I would like to thank our main crunchers for there loyalty and there crunching!! which is well and truly amazing.Peter-b,Satman,Ba,Loudbob.Thanks guys.

About Collatz Conjecture

Collatz Conjecture is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research in mathematics, specifically testing the Collatz Conjecture also known as 3x+1 or HOTPO (half or triple plus one). You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.
Collatz Conjecture is based in Wood Dale, Illinois, USA and continues the work of the previous 3x+1@home BOINC project which ended in 2008. It can run on an nVidia GPU, ATI GPU, or CPU.

I am running Collatz as a backup to Milkyway. It hasn't been running much recently though because Milkyway has been a lot more stable since they got a new server a while ago.

We had members that havent been active on collatz for 12 months and over.I had to get rid of them, they were just dead wood in my opinion and had got little or no credit. The big crunchers and those that have been active in the last twelve months are still with us.I thought it was time to give the team a little shake up.OcUK have been number 1 in the world before and i think its time we were number 1 again.

Collatz is/was my milkyway backup but ive been running my ati card/s on ubuntu and never quite managed stable milkyway and collatz with the same driver:(

Just moved the HD5970 back to windows so might have better luck:)

When do the points get updated for the team members? I have an overall score of 153,000 however on the website the Overclockers team list shows a score of 0?

Only one WU validated.. hrmph

Would be interested in seeing if the first three get validated before I decide on sticking with the old app or the "optimised" app seeing as the "optimised" app is about 40000000 times slower than the one you get by default.

What does "Completed, validation inconclusive" mean?

Collatz has a minimum quorum of 2 and initial replication of 3 which means a WU is sent to 3 computers and two have to send the same result back in order for them to be validated. If the first two computers send different results they will not validate and it says 'validation inconclusive'. It then waits for results from a third computer to try and validate one of the original results against that. If that fails it then sends out the WU to another computer up to a maximum of 14.

Up to fifth place, can't be bad! I've been using BOINC, does everyone else here use that?

I am doing SETI@home using my CPU, and Collatz on my GPU (OC'ed 6950) for a few hours a day when i've not been using my pc. Also dip into Milkyway@home from time to time too, I'm on the Overclockers UK team for all 3
