College networking.

How is describing something as black racist? Isn't that racist in itself?

Oh and whiteboards i suppose are fine :)

It use to be, now it's all wipe board this and wipe board that.

Calling a blackboard a blackboard isnt racist it's descriptive.

Needless to say my nephews have been told off for repeating what I just said in school :/

Daft isnt it.

My network has, like PC's and stuff, and you won't believe this, but serious they have these cables, I learnt the technical name 'CAT5' they must be like made of cats or something, and via them cables, yeah, they can like share stuff!!! crazy!

They have a cable that also connects them to the INTERNET, sweet jesus, and check this out, I can access my email, I mean wow, just wow, from home!

I mean thats not the half it, yeah mate, they got this crazy database right, check it, and it like knows what course I'm on, and lets me speak, via those amazingly awesome cables to my mates on like a forum just like this one, cool eh?

I mean one day, like, I might be able to flippin down load songs from the internet, and like play them on something small, and perhaps they'll have like thin monitors en stuff,

:p

I agree college pwns, so much better than school, more freedom, don't have to call tutors miss/sir can just talk to them bout the weekend, swear have a laugh and that they're not stuck up their own arse, make lots of new friends etc. The college network isn't the first thing to spring to mind for me lol!

Good lord.
The thing that made you happy about college was the network?
Seriously?
I dunno. But that's certainly not what I'd be getting excited about

Sorry but I am the most anti-racist person I know, I hate bigotted idiots who think ok to treat people of different races with a complete lack of respect.

However I am also against this positive-racism bull **** as well.

A blackboard is a blackboard, it's called that because it is black in colour for **** sake. I have a black TFT monitor, I certainly dont have an afro-carribean one.

Makes me sick, you think the problem will go away if we stop mentioning the word black? no it will get worse, because people then start thinking "hmmm we cant say black so black must be a bad thing".... muppets!

Afro-screens would look hawt with the carribean colours :D

Going on what you have said, they are using Novell eDirectory (Just like Microsofts Active Directory (Which is what AD was built around))

With Novell you CAN use a domain if you want to, depending on how your network is setup. What it primarily uses is a "Tree" which holds the clusters of servers and groups of machines.

The imaging for Susie (Also made by novell) is probably using Zenworks on the workstations.

Your college has spent some money and time on this, nice setup. Take advantage of susie, it's an amazing O/S.
